When I was 20 I went on a spontaneous month long road trip. Since then I've been dreaming of life on the road; Exploring the coast, roaming free, seeing what I might become if I threw my inhibitions to the wind...
Its been a couple of years now, that I've been exploring the options of how to make this dream a reality. I wanted it to be an investment, something long term, not just a season but something I could make into a lifestyle. I looked into vans, buses, trailers, tiny homes, and finally settled on a 1969 vintage Airstream.
When I realized I needed a pretty large sized vehicle to tow the Airstream however, I started dreaming about a van conversion. If I could find a van big enough to tow and suitable to convert, I could then use the Airstream as an airbnb rental (another random dream), which would provide income while I travel with the van.
In the beginning it looked doubtful. All the decent sized vans I looked into were way out of my price range. But then, just as I was getting ready to settle for a Tahoe, the most perfect high top 3500 Chevy came into my life.
