The abandoned beach houses of Marineland, FL

In Marineland, FL where Old A1A once stood, the pavement has crumbled and been washed away.

Most of the houses that still stand, despite the destruction of Hurricane Matthew, are now vacant and boarded up.

Further down the beach, desperate residents have built a sand road, which leads right up to the doors of their stilt lifted homes.

You can see these houses from the HWY. Perhaps I am the only one fascinated by them… Their ruins, their destruction, and how beautiful it all is.
