New Orleans

New Orleans

So… this was actually a pretty disappointing trip, as the parking was insane and couldn’t find a spot. For anyone going to New Orleans, I only have one piece of advice: Uber in!

I’m camped out in the van here in Marfa Texas. It is so cold I can see my breath even in the darkness. A flashing arrow sits by the streets, and shines through the cracks in my windows reflectix . I remind myself of all […]

Marfa, Texas

Marfa, Texas

El Cosmico is an 21-acre trailer, yurt, tent and teepee hotel located in Marfa, TX.

Wondering the gravel paths that are laid around the grounds, you will find a dozen colorfully painted vintage trailers, a hammock grove, an outdoor kitchen, bath house’s, and wood-fired dutch hot tubs. The Lobby House also provide’s a cozy hang out spot, a provisions store, bike rentals, more bathrooms and hot coffee in the morning.

For anyone passing through in their own RV, and wanting to park for the night and utilize the facility, or for those wishing to bring their own personal tent, this option is available for $20 a night.

I would recommend this stop to anyone. Whether your in your own camper van or decide to rent a trailer or a yurt, this place is fun, colorful and an experience you cant get anywhere else.

When I started traveling South West I had this idea of the places I wanted to visit, but more than the location I was excited about the cultural experience. To meet tan, hippy men in California, to eat green chilli in New Mexico. And Texas… […]

Truth or Consequences (Riverbend Hot Springs)

Truth or Consequences (Riverbend Hot Springs)

ruth or Consequences New Mexico formerly known as Hot Springs New Mexico is located seven miles South of Elephant Butte Lake. Town is known for its Hot Springs created from the mineral water which flow out of a Rift in the Rio Grande River. There temperatures range from 98 to 115 degrees. There are 10 commercial bathhouses offering these mineral pools. My personal recommendation is the Riverbend Hot Spring.

The common area at Riverbend Hot Springs is accessible for $12 an hour there are six different mineral pools Asana lounging area and shower facilities.

The pools sit alongside the Rio Grande river and offer a spectacular view. If you go during evening hours, you will also get to experiences the fairy lights lit up all around you.

The experience is more then relaxing, it is magical.

If your in this area make sure to check out the neighboring town, Elephant Butte Lake. With its beautiful state park and recreational lake,  it’s just a 10 minute drive up the road. White Sands National Monument is another  great stop, located just two hours East of Truth or Consequences.
